While celebrating Mass in Rome during our Renewal Course, I requested everyone to hold hands and thank those who had been our guides in life. Fr Nielo Cantilado SVD from the Philippines was between Fr Constantine Pitya Lugor SVD from Sudan and Fr Brian Ahearn SVD from Australia, both in their late sixties. Father Nielo started by saying, ‘These two hands I’m holding now remind me of my grandparents’. Father Brian smiled while Father Pitya looked highly peeved as some of those who had opened their eyes began chuckling.
