American-born Kathy Sinnott is one of Ireland’s MEPs (Member of the European Parliament), elected as an independent. She has an adult son, Jamie, who is autistic, and is a campaigner for the rights of persons with disabilities. She has also campaigned to keep GM (genetically modified) crops out of Ireland.
