The Epiphany or 'Three Kings'
Submitted by FatherSean on Sat, 01/02/2010 - 09:27.The date for the Epiphany on the universal calendar of the Church is 6 January. However in countries where it is not a holyday of obligation it is celebrated on the Sunday between 2 January and 8 January. Some time in the 1960s Ireland dropped the Epiphany as a holyday of obligation and I remember Fr Fergus O'Higgins in our parish lamenting this.
