Death of Columban Father Hubert Hunter in Australia
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr Hubert 'Hub' Hunter who died peacefully in Australia yesterday, Sunday 5 September. He was ordained in 1949 and served for many years in Japan. An older brother, Francis 'Frank', was also a Columban, ordained in 1941, and died in 2000.
St Hubert of Liege, in present-day Belgium,who died in 727, is the patron saint of hunters. Perhaps that is the reason Father Hub's parents chose that name for him.

Died peacefully at St. Josephs Home, Northcote on Sunday September 5, 2010 aged 85 years. Priest and Missioner of St. Columbans Mission Society in Japan and Melbourne.
Beloved son of Hubert and Agnes Hunter and brother of Father Frank and James (all dec).
