'The Miracle Girls'

My young friends in Holy Family Home, Bacolod City, who have appeared in Misyon, here (video) and here (video), have been praying their hearts out for Fr Michael Sinnott. when I returned from Australia recently the first question of the younger ones was 'Komusta si Father Michael?' 'How is Father Michael?' They were quite ecstatic yesterday when they heard of his release and have a welcome for him on the homepage of Misyon. One of the girls whispered to me wiht a smle on her face, 'We are the miracle girls'. The fact that Father Sinnott had no medical problems whatever in captivity, even though he's 79, had a heart bypass four years ago and had no medication for about ten days, indicates that God was indeed listening to the heartfelt prayers of 'The Miracle Girls'.

Knowing Father Michael's 'weakness' for ice-cream I promised Sister Alma TC, the one in charge of Holy Family Home, that I'd get ice-cream for the girsl when he was released.

The miracle girls are really very happy...

God really answers our prayers...He really creates miracle...The miracle girls are really very happy for the release of Fr. Michael Sinnott... We continue to thank God for all the wonders only He can do. It is because of the presence of God that people's hearts our being touched...God never leave Fr. Michael Sinnott and I'm very sure that the presence of Fr. Michael Sinnott has made a difference in the lives of his captors...I know that He was able to become God's witness of love, hope and humility... Fr. Michael just taught the world what is faith all about.

By the way, as promised, the miracle girls were also very happy to be treated with delicious ice cream by Fr. Sean last night...

'The Miracle Girls'

Fr Michael Sinnott, after his ordeal

The rest of 'The Miracle Girls', including those in the video, will have to wait till Monday night for the promised ice-cream. There are three things to celebrate then: Father Michael's release, St Columbans' Day, celebrated by all Columbans, and the birthday of Sr Dora Hernandez TC. She's from Colombia and her country gets its name from Christopher Columbus who quite probably got his name from the area where St Columban died in northern Italy, Bobbio, and where there are many villages names after the saint. Christopher Columbaus was born in that region.
