A Friendship story

I read this in PANAY news..

A story tells that two friends were walking in the desert. At some point, they had an argument and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
"TODAY MY BESTFRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE".
They kept on walking until they found an oasis where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, he wrote on a stone:
"TODAY MY BESTFRIEND SAVED MY LIFE"
The friend who had slapped and saved his bestfriend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?
The other friend replied, "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where wind of foegiveness can erase it away. But5, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."
Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your benefits in stone.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

what an inspiration!

hi there Lenny!

Your story is a great reminder that no matter what we do in life we cannot just have a grudge on anyone for a lifetime..not even for those who have hurt us the most. I can definitely attest to this and am still struggling (like we all are) but thank you for sharing this beautiful story!

fall seven times, stand up eight.

Forgiveness

Such a beautiful story, a very good reminder!
Honestly, I used to keep grudges, consciously and unconsciously as I may seem. But I realized that this was no good. So I decided to let go of hurts and of the past. It was so difficult and it was with God's grace that I was able to free myself from those ill-feelings and found peace. But surely the process continues...

May God grant us the grace of humility, of acceptance, of forgiveness so we may live life happily and fulfilling.
God bless us all!
