Questions I've Heard

While riding in a public vehicle, I have heard the conversation among the two passengers in front and the driver. They were discussing their opinions from both national and local issues like oil deregulation law going to the implementation of the No Segregation, No Collection policy in regards to the garbage collection in Bacolod City. I was amazed with the free and healthy flow of ideas and I realized that in issues like these, the media should also consider the point of views of ordinary people and not just those in authority. I enjoyed listening to them. Minutes later and I arrived at my destination and so I have to get down. Thus, I haven't heard of what they've got to say about the last question that they have posed for each other about the state and the church and about clergymen running for political office. I started doing research but what I was not that clarified so I'm posting my question in here... The questions run this way: "Is it alright for clergymen and women to run for a political office? What is the stand of the church about this?"

Thank you in advance!
